The Michael Jackson film that was proposed last month is set to hit the silver screen in late October. Portions of the film are said to be in 3D. The company is mostly looking at DVD sales for the film and the theatrical release is more of an afterthought/tribute. U2 and The Rolling Stones have done these types of films with not much success, however, I think this one will be different. I would assume the DVD will be out as soon as Christmas.
So we have the theatrical release of "This Is It".
The Austrian Tribute.
Most likely a DVD/CD combo package of unreleased footage/songs.
What's next? Not complaining, still cannot believe he's gone.
AEG Live has said it has more than 100 hours of footage of preparations and rehearsals for the shows. Under the terms of the proposed contract, the film will have to be screened for Jackson's estate and cannot include any footage that puts the superstar in a bad light. A final cut of the film is due by late October. A release date has not been issued.
