ReGrouped Cranberries Embark on Tour
The day that many of us thought we would never see, is finally here, and Cranberries.com couldn't be happier to announce the news. Dolores O'Riordan and the original members of The Cranberries have announced that they will reform for the first time in nearly seven years for a live tour. "I've decided to reunite with my former band members in The Cranberries and we will be writing new songs and performing tracks off my new album as well as our greatest hits during the shows. I'd love to see you out there." O'Riordan stated.

DJ AM Dead
Unbelievable. Straight from TMZ....
Sources tell us he was found in his apartment at around 5:20 PM. We're told drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.
Our sources say DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days -- one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door.
We're told the friend called the police, who broke down the door and then found DJ AM's body.
Back in September of 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina. Four people died in the crash -- which was caused when the airplane aborted takeoff and then ran off the runway. DJ AM and Barker were the only survivors.

Chris Brown, please be over...
What a mess, the ongoing Chris Brown saga gets worse and worse. I cannot believe Keri Hilson just put him in her video...shocked....
Read below.
Prior to the February beating that yesterday (Aug. 25) got Chris Brown a sentence of five years probation and six months of community labor, the singer was allegedly involved in two other unreported incidents "related to domestic violence" with his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a probation officer's report filed with the court yesterday (Aug. 25) alleges the first incident occurred about three months earlier, in Europe, when Brown and Rihanna were in a "verbal dispute." She slapped him and Brown responded by shoving her into a wall, the report claims.
Three weeks before the February incident, Brown and Rihanna were in Barbados, when they had an argument while driving a Range Rover lent to them by a local dealership, according to the report. Brown allegedly got out and broke both the front driver and passenger side windows. No one was injured.
Neither incident was reported to authorities. Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, declined to comment to the newspaper.
Yesterday, Brown was sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to do 180 days of community labor -- to be directly supervised by the police chief in Richmond, Va. -- Brown's hometown -- as agreed to in his plea deal in June, when he pleaded guilty to felony assault.
A second felony charge, making criminal threats, was dropped at the time of Brown's plea.
In addition to probation and community service, Brown will also go through a 52-week domestic violence program sponsored by Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Virginia.

Chris Brown Sentanced
Chris Brown was sentenced today to five years' probation and six months' community labor for the beating of Rihanna and ordered the R&B singer to stay away from his former girlfriend for the next five years. Brown could be sent to state prison if he violates the terms of the sentence, which includes staying 100 yards away from her unless they’re attending the same music industry event, where the former couple are allowed to be within 10 years of one another. Phew, at least they can go to Clive’s pre-Grammy bash. Brown will serve his sentence in his home state of Virginia. He will also undergo a year of domestic violence counseling. The court received several letters vouching for Brown’s character, including one from RCA/Jive’s Barry Weiss. A felony charge of making criminal threats was dropped during Tuesday's sentencing.

Leona Lewis - ECHO 2nd LP News
"An echo describes a big, organic sound," Lewis says of her choice.
Lewis is recording in various cities, including New York and Los Angeles. Though one track called Don't Let Me Down has
leaked online, neither the lineup of songs nor the list of contributors has been finalized. "I'm working with incredible songwriters and producers, and my music has really evolved," Lewis says.
Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote and produced Lewis' chart-topping breakthrough hit, Bleeding Love, is one confirmed collaborator, and a number of top artists have joined her in the studio, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and producer Timbaland.
Mariah's single, "I Want To Know What Love Is" Release
Whitney Houston's 'I Look To You': First Listen
Billboard Review
Finally, the moment is almost here: the release of Whitney Houston's long-anticipated new studio album after a seven-year break. "I Look to You" (Arista/RCA Music Group) will arrive in stores Aug. 31.
Here's a track-by-track rundown of what's in store:
1. "Million Dollar Bill" (3:24)
Opening the proceedings is this club jam that practically screams remix. Produced by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, it's accented by a catchy hook on which Houston emphatically notes, "If he makes you feel like a million dollar bill, say it." The song contains a sample from "We're Getting Stronger" as performed by Loleatta Holloway.
2. "Nothin' But Love" (3:35)
Behind the production helm are uptempo specialists Fernando Garibay and Nate "Danja" Hills. Houston proclaims that after everything she's been through, she has nothin' but love for family, teachers and "anyone who tried to hate on me/ Even the ones who tried to break me take me down."
3. ̢̢۬۬"Call You Tonight" (4:09)
This is a lilting mid-tempo tune about love, a cornerstone subject in Houston's storied career. Her assured, distinctive vocals are front and center on this Stargate production.
4. "I Look to You" (4:26)
The first single and title track is one of two R. Kelly compositions on the album. It's a simple, inspirational ballad that comes closest to Houston's iconic "I Will Always Love You"; co-produced by Tricky Stewart and Harvey Mason Jr.
5. ̢̢۬۬"Like I Never Left" featuring Akon (3:49)
Akon produced this easygoing, mid-tempo groove about reconciling lovers. His musical tenor is the perfect complement to Houston's resonating, gospel-honed voice. She also co-wrote the song.
6. "A Song for You" (4:11)
The album's only cover is a classic penned by Leon Russell and recorded by a number of artists, most notably Donny Hathaway. Houston puts her own stamp on the track, starting slow and then revving up the tempo. Remindful of Houston's 1993 cover of "I'm Every Woman," this is another Stargate-produced track.
7. "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" (3:40)
It wouldn't be a Whitney Houston album without at least a couple of ballads. This dramatic anthem -- heavy on the piano, drums and synths -- was penned by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster.
8. "Worth It" (4:39)
An understated but still sassy and saucy Houston goes to work on this mid-tempo song about knowing when love is worth it. She sings, "This is for the lovers just getting on their feet; for the lovers 20 years deep." It's produced by Eric Hudson (Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige).
9. ̢̢۬۬"For the Lovers" (4:13)
Houston ratchets up the beat on this outing, whose contemporary, infectious rhythms signal another potential club and/or top 40 single. Nate "Danja" Hills produced.
10. ̢̢۬۬"I Got You" (4:12)
With its atmospheric backdrop, this cut is a heart-felt declaration about the never-fading chemistry between two former romantic partners. Akon steps back in as producer on this mid-tempo selection, also co-written by Houston.
11. ̢̢۬۬"Salute" (4:10)
Minimal accompaniment -- keyboard, drums and guitar -- provides the backdrop on the second of R. Kelly's contributions. With conviction in her voice, Houston is ready to shed no more tears as she salutes a departing lover. You can fill in the blank.

SNAP! Great Response to Negative Mariah Attention!
Read this awesomeness by Roger Friedman at Showbiz411! Love it!
If only some of these “gossip columns” checked their facts and figures.
One of yesterday’s local papers got just about everything wrong in its story about Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston’s new albums. I do hope Michael Lewittes takes them to task in his new Gossip Cop blog.
The NY Daily News apparently doesn’t know that this year’s Grammy eligibility deadline has moved up a month to Aug. 31. Because the decision was made late, Carey decided to wait and make her album good instead of rushed. As you can read in this column, the album is done and very, very good.
Whitney’s album is being released officially on Aug. 31. It’s been moved up a day from Sept. 1. I’m just sayin’…let’s get this stuff right. It ain’t rocket science.
Carey, by the way, cancelled a bunch of dates once the album was completed, and went on a late, delayed summer vacation. She has a big fall ahead, with the album release and the Lee Daniels Oscar movie, “Precious.”
Myspace aquires iLike!
After confirming the acquisition of iLike yesterday, MySpace chief Owen Van Natta added that the company's staff will remain intact, its HQ will continue to be in Seattle and also operate autonomously. For now...
As leaked earlier in the week, MySpace today announced an agreement to acquire iLike, for a tag reported to be in the $20 million range. Said MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta: “The iLike acquisition advances our relentless pursuit of innovation and the need to create new distributed social experiences in music and beyond. We are deeply committed to bringing world-class talent into all areas of the company and this acquisition demonstrates our focus on this objective. Now will someone Tweet that out to the media?" iLike President Hadi Partrovi added: “Combining MySpace’s existing platform, reach and resources with iLike’s syndication network and social discovery tools creates the potential for truly exciting innovation and commerce across any vertical entertainment category—our combined assets now span all the major social networks. I'm enthusiastic about what this combination will mean for our users, artists, advertisers and our staff. We are beginning an exciting new journey together. Does anyone know where the Kogi BBQ truck is right now?”

HOT 100 Chart History - Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, jay Z, Miley Cyrus
As reported yesterday, the Black Eyed Peas break the record for the longest No. 1 stay for an act on the chart, with current chart topper "I Gotta Feeling" and previous No. 1 "Boom Boom Pow" dominating for a combined 20 weeks. That breaks Usher's record from 2004, when "Yeah!" and "Burn" were No. 1 for a total of 19 consecutive weeks.
Jason Mraz is this week's other record breaker, with "I'm Yours" notching its 70th week on the Hot 100. Thanks to 4.4 million total downloads and airplay on top 40, adult top 40, adult contemporary and triple A radio, "I'm Yours" beats LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live" for the song with the longest life on the Hot 100.
Crashing the party is Miley Cyrus with "Party In The U.S.A.," which debuts at No. 2 for her best-ever ranking on the chart. The song, which previews Cyrus' Walmart exclusive CD "The Time of our Lives," due Aug. 31, also opens at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs with 226,000 downloads.
Following Cyrus at No. 3 is Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West's "Run This Town." The song from Jay-Z's upcoming "The Blueprint 3" album moves 169,000 downloads in its first week of release and takes the Hot 100's fifth-biggest leap of the year (66-3). The trio is slated to perform "Run This Town" on the inaugural episode of "The Jay Leno Show" Sept. 14.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" drops 2-4, Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" holds at No. 5, Drake's "Best I Ever Had" falls 3-6, and Jay Sean (featuring Lil Wayne) falls "Down" from No. 6 to No. 7. Keri Hilson "Knock You Down" featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo slips 4-8, Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester's "Good Girls Go Bad" falls 7-9, and Pitbull's "Hotel Room Service" drops 9-10.

Mariah Carey - Official News, Official First Single
Foreigner’s Mick Jones can start ordering caviar and Champagne again: Mariah Carey is releasing her own gospel-tinged version of his masterwork song, “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
It’s the first “real” single from her new album following the summer release of the witty “Obsessed,” which is also included on “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.” The album and the single hit the world on Sept. 29th.
I heard the Foreigner song yesterday along with all of “Memoirs” and let me tell you: Mariah’s got a hit on her hands along the lines of “Emancipation of Mimi “The hour-long CD is ballad-centric. Written and produced with The Dream and Tricky (I know, but these are their stage names), “Memoirs” boasts a lot of singles. Starting with the Foreigner song is a canny move in these uncertain times. By the time its run is over, a new generation will think “I Want to Know What Love Is” is a Mariah Carey song.
Mick Jones, who wrote it, should start picking out some nice new cars thanks to Carey. The money should come rolling in quickly.
The other songs on the album — these are the titles, although the running order is still being finalized: “Betcha,” “Obsessed,” “H.A.T.E.U.,” “Candy Bling,” “Ribbon,” “Standing O’s.,” “Impossible,” “It’s a Wrap,” “Inseparable,” “Up Out My Face,” “More than Just Friends,” and “Angels Cry.”
Several of these are radio ready. “Angels Cry” is an honest-to-god ballad a la “Vision of Love,” and should be a gigantic success. “Standing O’s” also has potential, as do “H.A.T.E.U.” — which stands for “having a typical emotional upset” — and “Inseparable.”
Def Jam’s L.A. Reid — who previewed the CD for the first time yesterday with a clutch of staffers — is playing with the order, to get it right. But he really can’t go wrong. Carey’s album, is, as they used to say, “what the kids want.” Plus, it’s got stuff for the slightly older crowd. I loved the doo-woppy “It’s a Wrap.” And the Foreigner track is so powerful, it’s going to be everywhere.
Good news, too: no more songs about Eminem. One was plenty.
So, by the end of September we’ll have new CDs from Whitney and from Mariah. They’re each top notch and different from each other enough that their fans should want them both. Maybe we’ll see a return to record stores (we have but a few in Manhattan now) and diva duels on radio if programmers are smart.

Mariah - "Memoirs" Goes Full Speed Ahead
Mariah Carey—despite idiotic postings elsewhere—is gearing up for her big new CD release.
Mariah feels so strongly about “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” that she’s even re-hired the PR powerhouse that made her second-stage career such a success. She’s back with Cindi Berger of PMK HBH. It was Berger who made her “Emancipation of Mimi” the biggest hit of Mariah’s career. Smart move.
Of course, that means both Mariah and Whitney Houston are now being repped by the same PR company. PMK’s Kristen Foster is handling Whitney with my old pal, Jill Fritzo.
“Memoirs” was scheduled for an August 25th release, then moved to September 15th. Now it’s set for September 29th. If the regular Grammy deadline had been in place—September 30th—Mariah would have made it. But the unfortunate early deadline of August 31st cut her off. So she has some slack time to get “Memoirs” just right.
The first single from Mariah’s CD will not be “Obsessed”—that was just a summer trifle, and it was a lot of fun. The real first official single is said to be a powerhouse ballad along the lines of “Vision of Love.”

Michael Jackson Tribute in Vienna Comes to a Halt
TRIBUTE UPDATE: Looks like Jermaine Jackson’s “Happy Birthday Michael Jackson” tribute, originally set for Aug. 29 in Vienna in front of a live audience of 250k with an accompanying telecast, has hit some bumps. The date has been pushed back to Sept. 26, according to N.Y. Post Page Six. Jackson has a rather odd partner in the venture, Larry King’s wife Shawn, whose spokesman Howard Rubenstein claims Usher, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston have confirmed they’ll perform. Shawn and Jermaine plan to sing their duet, "Will You Be There," and release a CD from the event. Still, insiders are wondering if the tribute will ever come off. An executive involved in handling Michael Jackson's estate said, "We have nothing to do with it. It's all Jermaine."

She has something in her hand, what is it I asked? I look closer and its this drink Neuro. I google it and I didn't find too much except an underdeveloped myspace page. I had no idea how to get this beverage that I felt might help the circuits in my brain. Finally, a few weeks later a website popped up for Neuro. Ends up that it is mostly sold in California. Over the course of the following months since my "melt down", I kept following Neuro and checking out all their different flavors and functions. It reminds me of vitaminwater with its individuality and key benefits, but it seems more "real". Then, recently I start seeing pictures everywhere with celebs and Neuro, Neuro sponsoring this and that. The people behind this drink are making it happen and I would love to be a part of it (vitaminwater employee here for the past four years). Then, I'm reading a fav music site of mine, Hits Daily Double, and see that Perez Hilton's upcoming tour is sponsored by Neuro. This was a long story, but check it out when you get a chance, because its going to be everywhere and it's sure to be RATED NEXT!

THE HILTON TOUR: Hot off a "fawning" cover story in yesterday's L.A. Times Calendar section, which you can read here, gossip maven Perez Hilton has announced he'll put his name on a tour of bands sponsored by energy drink makers Neuro this fall. The web entrepreneur recently inked a deal with Warner Music Group for his own Perezcious label after helping the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Adele, Mika and Eric Hutchinson break through with favorable mentions on his much-traveled site.
