Swede Erik Hassle has some great tunes, and "Hurtful" is definitely one of them. This track is a pop masterpiece. To date, there have been three different videos for different markets to get his appeal moving forward with enough time for his album due out later this year in the UK.

Music Questions with Kyle - Joss Stone, Vanessa Carlton, Shakira

Joss Stone

Is this a joke? What happened? I know she had label issues, but WTF is this? Even the International version is just a as bad...with a picture. The album notes are even worse.

interesting EW article ---> EW

Shakira

When the hell does this CD come out here in the States? What is the hold up? Should have come out a month ago, its done, the song is done.

Vanessa Carlton

[source Will's Fantasmic Disney Adventures]

The American singer, songwriter, and pianist Vanessa Carlton was asked specifically not to come back to perform at Walt Disney World earlier today after a slip of the tongue during her performances at EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival 'Beats and Eats' Concert series at the American Adventure Pavilion.

According to reports, Carlton dropped the 'F' bomb during her first and third sets today. After being asked to watch her language by officials after her first set, Carlton was apologetic and promised not to do it again which proved false after her third set.

After being asked not to perform again, cast members in charge of the concert series instead asked another local band to play in place of Carlton.

I don't even like him, but really, who approved this image? I want to know who is responsible for saying, "yes! that is a great cover!" Who, I want names and we should all write letters.

Rihanna News + Russian Roulette

After much speculation, Def Jam Records announced today (Oct. 20) that Rihanna will be releasing her fourth studio album, "Rated R," on Nov. 23. "Russian Roulette," the first single, will premiere today at 11:23 a.m. EST on Rihanna's official website, rihannannow.com, while an accompanying video, directed by Anthony Mandler, will debut on ABC.

"Russian Roulette" was written and produced by labelmate Ne-Yo ("Take A Bow," "Hate That I Love You"). The-Dream, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Chase & Status and Justin Timberlake are among the other collaborators and producers who appear on "Rated R."

"Rated R" is the follow-up to 2007's "Good Girl Gone Bad," which spawned the hit single "Umbrella," among others, and the first official release from Rihanna since the February altercation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The album has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Yes! New Solange album confirmed by the girl herself for 2010! Solange is cool. She is cool. Her last album was great and felt like a new beginning and light years away from the mediocre "Feelin' You". She had a voice , a direction, and some great tracks like "Would've Been the One", "Sandcastle Disco", "I Decided Part 1 and 2", and "Cosmic Journey." I cant wait to hera whats next! Thoughts?

N.E.R.D. news + new album + new member

N.E.R.D. has added a fourth official member to the eclectic band. Pharrell Williams tells MTV News that the one-named Rhea has joined the lineup for their fourth album, Instant Gratification, due out in 2010. "Musically, we're just somewhere else [with her]," Williams said. "The music is now very 3-D. It's something you have to hear. But you'll see. We're definitely somewhere else. I want to leave that impact moment for when you purchase your download and you purchase your CD. The music is very three-dimensional. We're just really excited. We feel like N.E.R.D. has always been the punks of hip-hop and the outcasts of alternative music — just a little different. But this time, we're taking no prisoners."

[source]

This reminds me of when a certain group added a =certain female singer and then they blew up. NERD has always had a bit of a cult following and a few great tracks, but not even Gwen could levitate them into greatness towards the album charts and radio... I bet it will all change soon, we'll see. Thoughts?

Mariah Carey - H.A.T.E.U. remix

Oh my God, this remix is awesome! Rumors are running rampant that Mariah is releasing a sequel to MOAIA with all rapped up verses and remixed with different vocals. Here's the H.A.T.E.U. remix featuring J Da Juiceman, Big Boi and Gucci Man, total fun, but the original is still great, but different in its own right.

Michael Jackson - This Is It

This is crazy. I just read the following piece from Hits Daily Double about MJ's upcoming This Is It, and the number of screens is insane. Ill be there, will you? (no pun intended)

The Michael Jackson This Is It movie will be opening on 25k screens worldwide, with estimates for the two-week engagement ranging from $60-100m in the U.S. The limited run is intended to advance the perception that this is a must-see event, potentially further ramping up demand for the DVD, which will be released as the gift-giving season kicks into high gear. The Epic soundtrack album streets Oct. 27, a day before the movie opens, with the title track hitting next week. Initial shipments are said to be in the range of 3-4m worldwide.

Jay Sean Hits Number One

Finally, a new number one track on the Billboard charts. The Black Eyed Peas reigned for far too long. Kind of amazing that Jay-Z, Mariah, Whitney, Or Madonna didn't upset the streak. Heavy hitters are fading....

[source]

As previously reported, Jay Sean has halted the Black Eyed Peas' record reign atop the Billboard Hot 100. Sean's debut single "Down," featuring Lil Wayne, crowns the list with a 2-1 jump.

The Peas had held steady atop the Hot 100 for 26 consecutive weeks with "Boom Boom Pow" (12) and "I Gotta Feeling (14), smashing the prior mark of 19 straight frames in charge earned by Usher with two tracks in 2004. "Feeling" falls 1-5, the largest drop from the top since Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" dipped 1-6 on the chart dated July 5, 2008.

The battle for Hot 100 supremacy this week was extra fierce, as the chart's top five titles are separated by the tightest point margin in more than six years. Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." pushes 3-2, while also reaching the top 10 on Radio Songs/Hot 100 Airplay (12-9). Jay-Z rebounds 4-3, with help from Rihanna and Kanye West, on "Run This Town," while Jason DeRulo ascends 5-4 with his debut effort, "Whatcha Say."

Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" takes Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors for a second week, popping 7-6. Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10 are Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" (6-7), Mariah Carey's "Obsessed" (9-8), Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" (8-9) and Jay Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" (10-10).

Lola/Jennifer Lopez - Who is Lola?

Jennifer Lopez needs to reinvent herself. At the height of her singing career, JLo album, she was popping out singles left and right. I don't know what happened after that, but it all just went wrong. I have every JLo album and I thoughroughly enjoy her, so Im hoping this jnew persona really works for fans and Miss Loopez herself.

Not to be confused with Sasha Fierce or Mimi, JLo's publicist says this is just a small side project gearing fans up for her 2010 release.

"Lola is just for this song, it's not her ongoing persona," says a source close to the singer. "It's something fun. She hasn't become Sasha Fierce [Beyoncé's artistic alter ego]. There won't be anything to do with Lola on her Love? album."

Either way, I love love love marketing plans like this, even if we already know the end result. Looking at the website, Im assuming there is going to be nine tracks that will leak, because there are nince smaller windows with only one active.

Lack of Updates - Coming Up

I think I was devastated after Mariah didn't enter the charts at number one. I'm back and updates are coming.
