Following the epically outrageous 2009 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, MTV is bringing the celeb-powered, anything-might-happen craziness back to New York for the 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards on September 13 at 9 p.m. ET. For the second year in a row, comedian Russell Brand will host the live show, taking place at some of the city's most iconic locations, including Radio City Music Hall.
"This year will be a controversy-free festival of love and discrete orgasms," said the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star, who stirred plenty of controversy as host last year when he joked about the Jonas Brothers' purity rings.
What do you think about Russell Brand hosting again?
I adore Russell Brand! I think he is great and funny and witty and savvy and all things in between! He is very smart too! Last years VMA's were great in large part because of him even though some people "didn't get him". His jokes and pokes at people were spot on and I can't imagine anyone else following up last years and relating to today's world and pop culture.
